This very exciting litter (six beautiful black/white puppies; 3 girls,
3 boys) was whelped May 4, 2006.
The dam is Luna (Ch. Laurdan's
Moonlight Serenade) and the sire is James.
James was the No. 1 ESS and
No. 1 Sporting Dog in 2006. He was the top ESS in the breed for 2005,
as well. Luna was sired by Dexter (Ch. Serenades
Storm Warning), the top producing black/white sire in the history of the
breed.

A home-prepared, whole foods diet
Our puppies are naturally reared and weaned on a home-prepared diet weve been feeding our dogs since 1994. On this diet, our dams have large litters, whelp easily and have more than sufficient milk supply to nurse their babes through weaning.

We often hear the comment, how calm your puppies are. We attribute this to their natural diet which does not include artificial sweeteners and sugars used in some commercial dog foods for palatability. These additives can create hyperactive and objectionable behavior.
Between ten and twelve weeks is a critical socialization period among litter mates and the dam, so we do not place puppies before that time. We find twelve weeks of age to be an optimum time for puppies to leave their dam and adjust to a new home.
All puppies are checked by a board certified veterinary ophthalmologist and a general practitioner for congenital and hereditary defects.
When placing puppies we try to make the right match and spend a considerable amount of time working with new owners and educating them on the breed.
